Keystone Grounds is based right here in Pasadena. We know this city, its properties, and its people — and we bring that local knowledge to every commercial and residential property we service.
Pasadena is the second most populous city in Harris County and one of the most important industrial cities in Texas. With 151,950 residents, a booming Ship Channel corridor, hundreds of apartment communities, retail centers, and industrial facilities, it’s a city that demands a landscaping company that truly understands local property needs.
That’s exactly where Keystone Grounds comes from. Eduardo Rodríguez founded this company in Pasadena and built it on the same values this city respects: hard work, honest service, and accountability. Every property we maintain in Pasadena gets the same standard we’d want for our own neighborhood.

After the 1900 Galveston Hurricane, Clara Barton of the Red Cross donated 1.5 million strawberry plants to Gulf Coast farmers. Pasadena farmers took to them so well that by the 1920s, the entire southeast area of Harris County was known as “Pasadena Acres.” At its peak, Pasadena shipped 28 train carloads of strawberries every single day — earning it the title of Strawberry Capital of the World. The city still holds an annual Strawberry Festival today. The name “Pasadena” itself is a Chippewa word meaning “Crown of the Valley.”

Pasadena has always been a city that works for a living. Sam Houston’s army marched through here before the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836 — and after the battle, Santa Anna himself was captured just one mile from today’s city center. The Texaco founder Joseph Cullinan operated an experimental farm on 200 acres here in the early 1900s, helping position Pasadena’s land along the Ship Channel for the industrial boom that would follow.
Then there’s Gilley’s. The iconic honky-tonk on Spencer Highway, co-owned by country music star Mickey Gilley, became the setting for the 1980 film Urban Cowboy — putting Pasadena on the national map and capturing the spirit of a blue-collar Texas city that knows how to celebrate hard work.

After Texas won independence at the Battle of San Jacinto in April 1836, the Mexican General Santa Anna tried to escape on a horse stolen from the Vince Ranch — which sat right where Pasadena stands today. “Deaf” Smith had already destroyed Vince’s Bridge to cut off his escape route. Santa Anna was captured approximately one mile from Pasadena’s current city center, sealing Texas independence.

Keystone Grounds was founded in Pasadena and this city is our home market. When you hire us, you’re not getting a franchise crew dispatched from across the metro. You’re getting a local, owner-operated team that drives these streets every day, knows these neighborhoods, and genuinely cares about how properties in this community look and feel.
Eduardo Rodríguez started this company with a mower, a work ethic, and a commitment to doing things right. Pasadena shaped that standard — and every crew we put on every property reflects it.
